Christianity Today reports on the Angican/Episcoplalian, “breaking point” meeting next week (Episcopalians Head to High-Stakes Meeting) in which the future of the Anglican communion seems to be at stake. Obliquely relate; Fr. Richard John Neuhaus at First Things (Oct. 2007, “While We’re At It”):
I do not plan a comment on the Episcopal priest in Seattle who says she is also a Muslim. In part because commenting on Episcopalian foibles and follies is like shooting fish in a barrel. It seems unfair. What else is to be said about a church in which John Spong, who is celebrated for denying almost every article in the creed, is a bishop in good standing?
Alas. The Catholic Church has it’s Spongs.
